Cloud Computing and Education

Cloud computing is a way of delivering computer services, including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence, over the internet (“the cloud”) to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale. With cloud computing, users can access their data and applications from any device connected to the internet, rather than being tied to a specific device or location.

  3. Software as a Service (SaaS): This type of cloud service delivers software applications over the internet, eliminating the need for users to install and run them on their own computers.

One of the main benefits of cloud computing is that it allows users to scale their resources up or down as needed, pay only for what they use, and reduce the costs associated with maintaining their own infrastructure.   6. The cloud provider bills the user for the services they use, based on a pay-as-you-go model, which eliminates the need for large upfront investments.

Cloud computing allows users to take advantage of the economies of scale and other benefits of shared infrastructure, while also providing them with the flexibility and scalability they need to run their applications and perform other tasks.
